New Lifeguard Rescue UTV Enhances Safety in Morro Bay
We are thrilled to announce the arrival of a brand new Lifeguard Rescue UTV, made possible through the generous support of our community. This essential vehicle will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our beaches and waters, allowing for rapid and efficient emergency responses.
This is an incredible tool for our Lifeguards to use throughout the summer and for the Harbor Patrol in the winter and off-season. It has great mobility through crowds, driftwood, and the creek and is amazingly fuel efficient. We are very appreciative of the generous donations to the Friends of the Harbor Department.
A Community-Driven Effort
Over the past few months, we embarked on a largely word-of-mouth campaign to raise funds for a new rescue UTV. The response was overwhelming, with donations pouring in from both local residents and supporters from afar. Thanks to this outpouring of support, we successfully acquired the UTV, which is now ready to assist the Morro Bay Harbor Department in lifesaving operations.
