Becka Kelly

Becka Kelly

Becka Kelly joined the Harbor Department in 2000 after a 6 year stint working on different boats as a marine biologist and commercial fishing in Morro Bay, Santa Cruz, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico and Australia.  She has worked her way up the ladder from Reserve Harbor Patrol Officer and Junior Lifeguard Coordinator to Harbor Patrol Supervisor.  Becka’s love of the ocean, outdoors and helping people in the community she grew up in, makes this the perfect place to work.  She is also lucky to work alongside her husband, Mike, a Firefighter for Morro Bay Fire and while raising their children in this beautiful area.
Lori Thompson

Lori Thompson

Lori Thompson was first recruited by the Morro Bay Police Department in 2007, after spending a few years having a couple kids. Ready to get back to work and have an adult conversation, Lori worked part-time as the Property and Evidence Technician for PD.  Shortly thereafter, desiring more hours, she took on a second part-time position in the Water Billing Department at City Hall.  It could be said that the Harbor Department stole Lori from PD and City Hall, offering her more opportunities or at least one full-time job. Now working as the Harbor Department’s Business Coordinator, Lori focuses on managing the Harbor Business office and supporting Harbor Patrol. When not working for the City, Lori is spending time with her girls and traveling the world.

Dana Stein

Dana Stein

Dana Stein has worked for the Harbor Patrol since age 16.  He grew up in Los Osos fishing on the bay and always being in and around the water and boats.  He is an avid mountain biker in his off time and competes in bike races around the area.  The worse the conditions get outside the more he likes it.
Jeremiah Jacobs

Jeremiah Jacobs

Jeremiah Jacobs spent many of his early years as a lifeguard for various agencies around the county honing his nonexistent paddle board skills and futilely working on a base tan. He gained some recognition as a  sprinter for Cuesta aquatics and is a graduate of the Allan Hancock Fire Academy. Since joining the ranks of the Harbor Department, Jeremiah has proven his dedication by attempting to fix things he has no business touching and inflicting coworkers with his dry, sarcastic humor. Jeremiah considers himself extremely fortunate to be trusted in his role as Harbor Patrol Officer and is proud to serve the community of Morro Bay.
Marcos Green

Marcos Green

Marcos has had an intimate relationship with the waters of the Central Coast almost as long as he can remember. Surfing, kayaking, fishing, and just frolicking in and on the ocean, have influenced his path in life to bring him to the Morro Bay Harbor Department. His job choices have all revolved around water, including a fourteen year stint as a custom bodyboard shaper, two years as a kayak guide out of the State Park Marina, and two and a half years as a kayak guide in the Seattle area.
Charlie Howland

Charlie Howland

Charlie Howland grew up on the waters of the Central Coast- fishing, diving, and surfing. His love of the ocean has led him to fish both for sport and commercially, as well as work as a charter boat captain on Catalina Island and in SE Alaska.  When the opportunity to join the ranks of the Morro Bay Harbor Patrol arose, Charlie knew it was the perfect match to combine his experience on the water and his aspiration to serve his local community. Charlie is a dedicated father to his two young daughters and enjoys sharing his passion for the outdoors with them and his wife. When not in nor on the water, Charlie might be found backpacking in the Sierras with his family or tending to their garden plot and fruit trees at home.
